Okay, so something that's been kept mostly quiet, except for close friends, until we had everything lined up. I think it's time to put it out here for everyone:

Tech and I have started a business, and we could use a little boost. And in return, you'll get stuff out of it, too.

You can check it out here:

If you can't chip in, then by all means, please spread the word a little. I really need to get this going, since toward the end of this year, and early next year, I'm going to be off my feet for a while.

For the record

Emi and Puppy are no longer welcome in our home. I'm posting this publicly so that maybe they will get the hint that I'm serious, as they are no longer on my friends list here on LJ, or on YIM, MSN, FA, or any other online or RL means.

And just love how them having to leave is apparently ME bullying MY husband. Get a grip, only one I've seen do that in this house is her and hers. Comments screened.

For New Year's Eve, I donated blood. And, yet again, had to lie. There's NO medical basis for the prejudice that the bloodbanks still cling to, being gay or bisexual does NOT make you any more likely to have a disease then being strictly straight does. It's time we put a stop to the misinformation they're enforcing on people.

I'm bi. Have always been bi. And have been getting STD tests 1-2 times a year, for as long as I've been sexually active. And I have tested negative for everything but cold sores. Considering the rate of *that* occurring among straight folks (considering I have had those since childhood, especially... Thanks, Mom and Dad...) I can't honestly say my orientation had anything to due with it.

Stop the misinformation. Spread the word. This is a real world problem that needs addressing, and I'm calling y'all out. Help me with this one. Please. People DIE for not getting the transfusions they need. I donate, and lie, because not only do I know I'm clean... I know when it comes to saving a life, it doesn't matter who you are. We're all equal, our blood is all red, and if it will keep someone from losing a loved one... I will continue to lie, as do many others like me. Please sign this petition.

Thank you, and happy New Year to you all.

PS: Anybody else get really thirsty after donating blood? Or am I totally weird?

Friends list stuff...

I'm going to be trimming my friends list down a bit. This is a public entry so that if you really want back on it, you can reply and tell me so. If not... Well, it was nice to have known you in the meantime.

Otherwise... I'm clearing off people who never comment, that I don't feel particularly close to, or that never post much themselves.

What Big Cat Are You?

You Are a Lynx
You are a quiet observer of the world around you. Your wisdom comes from listening carefully.
You've always been extra sensitive and aware. And it's made it difficult for you to fit in.

You see past people's outward personas. You are able to penetrate a stranger's soul.
What you've learned about people is both beautiful and ugly. And you keep these secrets to yourself.

I am the mother who told her lesbian daughter to invite her girlfriend over for dinner.

I am the father who punished his son for calling you a fag.

I am the preacher who told my congregation that love, not hate, is the definition of a true follower of God.

I am the girl who did not learn the meaning of "homosexual" until highschool but never thought to question why two men might be kissing.

I am the woman who argues (quite loudly and vehemently) with the bigots who insist that you do not have the right to marry or raise children.

We are the high school class who agrees, unanimously, along with our teacher, that love should be all that matters.

If you agree, repost this. Do it. You don't have to be afraid. You can handle it. You're stronger than you think.

Hate will not win.

Just finished watching a movie, "I, Robot". Never saw it before tonight, and I have to say it was pretty awesome. Tech's threatening me with another movie... "Meet the Feebles". I'm afraid now, very very afraid...
